Politicians are good at making promises, but rarely are these promises kept. They tell the voters what they think they want to hear and hope they will forget the promises made which are not kept.
It seems like voters have a very short memory and tend to forgive their favorite candidates who lie to them in order to get elected. Once elected they take an oath to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution and none of them honor their oath.
When you or I tell a lie or violate a contract we are held accountable, but when a Congressman or woman tells a lie, it is the norm.

I like President Trump and voted for him, but one thing He said while campaigning was he would appoint a special prosecutor to investigate Hillary Clinton. Not getting into the legalities of what he said as he cannot himself appoint a special prosecutor. After winning the election he said Hillary Clinton was a good person and she had been through enough! She "in my opinion" intentionally committed treason against the United States of America and that is something a True Patriotic President CANNOT dismiss and turn his back to! The evidence supports that additional investigations is warranted! Also evidence supports that Hillary Clinton is not the only person in gov't that lied to cover their own ass! There is so much that should be investigated concerning Hillary Clinton and yes Barack Obama too!
I think Trump is what the US needed, but I'm afraid it's just too late!
I hope that The President keeps that promise. It's just been so crazy in his first three weeks with all the rocks that are thrown at him it's a wonder how he's holding so strong!
I think when he gets his cabinet in place and gets the first issues started like Health Care and taxes, he will get on to the distraction that is Killary!
