Florida Sheriff John Rutherford Takes a Stand
The National Sheriff's Association took the position that it would be ok with them to violate the Constitution if the Supreme Court instructed them to do so. This position is absolutely absurd. A law is either Constitutional or it is not. Just because a panel of nine lawyers say that some is Constitutional doesn't mean that it is. The ultimate arbiter of the Constitution is "We the People" and we have entrusted our County Sheriff to be the guardian of our rights and the defender of the Constitution.
