This is double jeopardy in action. The Hammonds being in jail, (along with the rest of our political prisoners), is a good enough reason to revolt if you ask me.
This is the exact kind of thing that King George was doing, along with suspending writs and ignoring requests for redress.

Technically the Hammonds are not victims of double jeopardy because they have not be tried twice for the same crime. It is the official position of the Federal government that the Judge did not impose the lawful minimum 5 year sentence for terrorism.
Starting a backfire has been a well established method of fighting fires for hundreds of years. Terrorism is an act of threatening or exposing someone to serious risk. Burning 100 acres of property managed by the BLM threatened no one and does not fit the description of terrorism. They only burned sagebrush and prairie grass. The only victims were snakes, gophers, jack rabbits and field mice. The punishment in this case certainly did not fit the crime.
The Jury found the Hammonds guilty of arson, but were not informed that the minimum sentence for such a crime was five years in prison.
Technically, there IS NO CRIME.
ESPECIALLY not terrorism. Not even a charge of arson is justified.
These people were acting in self defense of their land and livelihood. They did not even commit any crime, if you ask me.
They only burned about a hundred animals, a hundred acres and $100 worth of sagebrush. Their actions were justified by the law of necessity and did not injure or kill any humans.
There is NO provable crime there and the jury never and a chance to meter out the people's justice through jury nullification. The entire case should have been discharged and frivolous and criminal charges filed against all humans involved in any part of the process of terrorizing these American Patriots.
Why do "they" always choose to victimize the really good Americans, who really ARE the heartland of America?
Does anyone know how to contact the Hammonds? I have tried to find some contact info on line but I can't. I found an Oregon organization that is said to have information but they do not answer their phones or return calls. Thanks. Bill -
