For a hobby, I'm going thu my county CAFR & what I am finding is astounding.  What is so disgusting is that we are a small city in trouble with a big drug problem.  We have deputies & patrolmen laid off because of a budget shortfall????? They have also raised the city income tax, all while having millions in the coffers.  Truthfully, I don't think they realize it.  I'm waiting for the Ebooks to do the analysis from the website   http://cafrman.com so that I can do an analysis on the appropriate funds.  I'm also going to do the City  & then the school districts.  If nothing else, when they come asking for taxes to be raised, I'll have an answer.  My plan is to make it public when I'm sure of what I'm doing.

I have gone thru all of the accounts manually, & made a list of accounts that have had no transactions, or the transactions mostly offset each other & the fund stays the same or grows.   It's just sickening!

Is anybody else doing anything with this?
