Nullifying Unconstitutional Laws

Many of the Northern States refused to comply with the Fugitive Slave Law. because they believed it was Unconstitutional. They did not ask the Supreme Court to render an opinion Today, states still have aright to nullify laws that violate the Constitution.

There are seven states that are a Constitutional right guaranteed to them in Article V of the Constitution. It clearly prohibits Congress from depriving a state of its equal suffrage in the senate without their consent. I believe that Utah and the other six states that have never ratified the 17th Amendment are not obligated to comply with the provisions of the 17th Amendment.

The legislatures of the Northern States nullified the Fugitive Slave Law without the approval of the Supreme Court and the seven states that have not ratified the 17th Amendment have a legitimate reason to nullify it.
