Like millions of others, I supported the movement to call  for a Convention of the States. Then I discovered that what Patrick Henry said was absolutely true. I formed my earlier opinion based on a false premise which lead me to draw a false conclusion. I deeply regret that I was conned into believing that the Convention of the Statea was a good idea.

The prescribed method for amending the Constitution was in the Articles of Confederation  Knowing that it would have been virtually impossible for them to get the unanimous support of all of the states they simply changed the rules for ratification.

In the Declaration of Independence, Thomas Jefferson said that when the government becomes tyrannical it was the right and duty of the people to alter or abolish their government and that is exactly what they did.

The reason for seeking to amend the Constitution was not because the Articles of Confederation had become tyrannical, but because the of defects in the document.

The reason our government has become tyrannical because the Constitution is not being obeyed. The people were responsible to monitor their government and hold the elected officials accountable for not obeying the Constitution.

The Constitution has failed to do its job because we the people have failed to do our job. We don't need to ,alter or abolish our government, we simply need our government officials to obey it. Every law including the Constitution which is the supreme law of land ceases to be law when it is not enforced  George W. Bush stated that the Constitution was just a God damned piece of paper.

We the people are above the Constitution and the government and we have both the right and the duty to hold those government officials accountable Those who fail to comply with limitations imposed on them in the Constitution need to put on trial for their crimes.

Currently our Congressmen and women are rewarded by Wall Street bankers and corporations for passing unconstitutional legislation because we allow it. Instead rewarding the criminals we need to prosecute them for their crimes.

Congress continues to spend money we don't have on programs and projects that are unconstitutional. We can reduce spending significantly by simply requiring Congress to only spend money on those things authorized in the Constitution.

In Article 1 Section 8 Congress only authorized to spend money to pay our debts, provide funding for our common defense and for promoting the general welfare.

Money that is allocated to foreign countries is unconstitutional. Allocating money to fund government agencies and bureaus is unconstitutional, allocating money to help some of our people at the expense of others is also unconstitutional.

We don't need to pass an balanced budget amendment all we would need to do is limit spending to the areas authorized in the Constitution.

By imposing term limits on elected officials we take away an individuals right to vote for the candidate of his or her choice. We need to educate the people of the principles in our Constitution so they can make an informed decision. Currently the men and women elected are the ones who spend the most money.

I agree that the people and the states have a right to call for a Convention of the States, but that does not mean that we should exercise that right. We wouldn't need to amend the Constitution if we simply enforced it.

If our Congressmen knew they would be held accountable to the voters in their districts for recklessly spending their money on unconstitutional programs and projects we would see a dramatic improvement in their behavior.

In Article 1 Section 8 Clause 17 the Constitution limits the jurisdiction of the government to an area not to exceed 10 miles square prohibits the government from owning land in the states unless it is to be used for military forts, arsenals, dockyards and needful buildings. The government now claims to own over 70% of land in some of the western states. The government claims to own up to 900 million acres.

All of the issues the Convention of the States are pushing can be accomplished simply by strictly enforcing the Constitution,

Promoters of a Convention of the States claim that a Convention of the States in not a Constitutional Convention.

What is CONSTITUTIONAL CONVENTION

According to Black's Law Dictionary a Constitutional Convention is defined as a

A duly constituted assembly of delegates or representatives of the people of a state or nation for the purpose of framing, revising, or amending its constitution.

Billy,

You're one of my favorite characters on planet Earth, but you have a habit of shooting down every idea that's been tried and failed as though these ideas won't work. Perhaps it was just not the right time.

I believe we are at the right time now for the Patriot movement, (in many forms), to succeed. I do not get all excited about this solution or that, nor do I get discouraged by the lack of purity in every movement.

I simply believe in Article I, Section 2, Clause 3 and the resultant changes that would go along with the enforcement of this Article.

Thank's I think ?

Yes, Thank You!  This could be a reality for the 'kids' ..  our children will live a blank page. Let's NOT let that happen.

We all are at a huge disadvantage as we're on different pages, in different books, and in different libraries.

Here's a perfect example of our deep 'state of apathy' .. Even with all the information regarding Ted Cruz's Illegal Alien status I still must defend my statements. Unfortunately, he's my illegal alien LYING Senator. I campaigned AGAINST him while a friend CAMPAIGNED for him. smh

Roughly 2 million support Article V COS.  With the movement enjoying great success I'm inclined to believe this is a soros backed event. Texas Article V bill, SRJ2, has gone to Abbott's desk.

While perusing the TX state website I found some awful bills being rammed through fast and furiously. SB 959 - Relating to the adoption of the Compact for a Balanced Budget. Your state, more than likely, is preparing this same bill so check it out.

Also, go here → Compact for America (CFA).to read how the above mentioned bill will be utilized against us once again. This information comes from Publius Huldah website.  It's getting scary folks..

You cannot trust Publius Hulda.

Morton, in WHO or WHOM may I place my trust?  I will NEVER put my trust in supporters of my illegal alien senator LYINGted Cruz. He is the RAT we smell. Looks like we'll need to blast the RAT with powder or a high pressured hose to get him out of office .. he, and Cornyn are running unopposed this election cycle (how rare is that for a senatorial race?). Looks like there may very well be a 'bone yard' nearby LYINGted.

I just found her .. the research appears to be impeccable.  Is she Dirty?  Is she running a scam on the American people for money?  Is she in bed with Soros like others are suspected of doing? What gives?  Since I do NOT know her. and only recently found her body of work, and she is heralding the same information as KrisAnne Hall please give me the scoop.

The information mention on her site regarding Texas and SB 959 was 'Spot' ON for they are feverishly pushing a Compact of States (click link in previous comment) which is different from a A-V application which calls for Convention to amend Constitution that can address any state issue. The Texas SB 959 allows Texas to only do the following:

Bill Analysis

SB 959 would execute an interstate compact for a balanced budget. The compact would introduce a balanced budget amendment which details its guidelines. This bill would establish a commission and administrator for the compact to oversee its coordination, operation, funding, and enforcement. The compact would require each member state to apply to Congress for the calling of a convention for the ratification of the Balance Budget Amendment. Procedures would be created for: membership in the compact; withdrawal from the compact; the appointment and responsibility of delegates for the convention; and convention and compact rules.

The bill sounds just awful, and we need to start soon being very afraid. I don't normally sound an alarm, but Texas has big problems with Abbott in Austin.  I'm Native Texas, never been in politics so no financial gain (but skin in the game) here just loyal to my State and my Country, and I see/feel/hear/it ALL slipping away.

I do agree with the Indictment Engine, and Keith's information regarding 1 representative per 30K Constituents then get their butts out of DC.

.

Spot on friend. Besides myself and Keith and now you, I don't know of any one here that has mentioned AmericaAgain in an informed view. What could be more basic to fixing our problems, than representation. The tool to accomplish this is already in the Constitution. AmericaAgain is not looking for a multitude of people, less and 1% can carry this forward. The big thing with any doable change will be enforcement, the milita is part of the AA plan.

Billy, you know there's safety in numbers, lol!  I remember hearing on the news (when it was not as lame which I think started around Kennedy's assassination) as a kid about the 'Calling a Grand Jury' for this or that.  What void did that Constitutional Tool disappear into?

These two ideas are our best bet to save our bacon!  Oh, and the word NO!

I have researched the Publius Hulda posts and comments, I have found them to checkout completely.

Saying "You cannot trust Publius Hulda" with nothing to back up that comment is nothing more than "fake news".

I'm Happy to report SB 959, 'Compact of States' bill, authored by Senator Brian Hughes, is DEAD! I'm ass U me it was a Plan 'B' scare tactic to get Texas Legislators into voting for Abbott's real Plan 'A', A-V, into life.  jmo

So True! Who can you trust here ?
