A man named Adrian Rogers studied Bastiat, and from his readings he established a saying:
“You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity. What one person receives without working for another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for that my dear friend is the beginning of the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.”
Adrian wrote this in the 1930 circa when the depression was at its greatest. people starved because the country depended upon the stock market and the large banks. Sound familiar? today we depend upon a fiat economy and money is of no value only the debts incurred upon the people backs as welfare both to people , military, and foreign governments have decimated our currency.
Fredric Bastiat, a man who understood the primeval need of the Old Super Elite to keep all people in bondage. What is different today than yesterday? The Internet has opened a whole new world of understanding and helps people to understand their plight.
read this next quote and understand it well for to all of us its a window into understanding the world at hand:
“Experience teaches effectually, but brutally. It makes us acquainted with all the effects of an action, by causing us to feel them; and we cannot fail to finish by knowing that fire burns, if we have burned ourselves. For this rough teacher, I should like, if possible, to substitute a more gentle one. I mean Foresight. For this purpose I shall examine the consequences of certain economical phenomena, by placing in opposition to each other those which are seen, and those which are not seen.”
This should make one want to know how to progress to understanding." Foresight is the key word now.
