I'm not surprised that you haven't heard of us. We're small, but specific. Basically, a half-dozen or so vets from the larger "Restore the Republic" group spun off into this vet's assn. simply because that group lacked focus. I was asked to head up the legislative department, and we have worked on a few projects, drafted some legislation, and basically help educate state legislators and others on some common constitutional subject matter.
For my part, I came aboard not via direct military service, but the men in my family who served in WWII. There's an appalling disconnect with people who can't see our victory over fascism in that great war, and what we have brought home to roost here with this "may I see your papers please" nonsense post-911. As such, the NVCCA has worked against things like "Real ID," returning to the real money (silver and gold) that our vets were once paid for their service, and etc.
As an FYI, I'm in Pennsylvania, transplanted here from Maryland via South Carolina. Our Marine vet bud is in NJ, about to move to PA. Our Navy Commander (retd.) is also in PA. Our founder is in Montana, and we have a few others scattered about. You can see our web site at http://nvcca.net It's in need of a few updates, but that's the just of it.
