The men at the Constitutional Convention in 1787 voted unanimously on an amendment to be proposed to the states that would require that each representative in the House of Representatives would represent no more than 50,000 people. They believed this would guarantee that the voice of the people would be heard loud and clear. It would also limit the power of the Representatives to abuse the people they were elected to serve.
This was the first of twelve amendments proposed to the states in the Bill of Rights. Only 11 states voted in favor of its ratification and if fell one vote short of being ratified.
If the representatives spent 365 days a year in their own office in their Congressional District we could shut down the District of Columbia and return the land to Maryland and Virginia.
Under the originally proposed First Amendment we would have approximately 6,250 representatives. instead of 435 and the power would shift from the representatives to the people.
Washington D.C. is a cesspool where lobbyist, bankers, lawyers and politicians congregate to exploit the American people. We need to send our representatives back to their home Districts where they can effectively represent the people they were elected to serve.

This is indeed doable with the internet and its abundant avenues of communication. I believe much of what the Founders created came about by arduous discussion. It should not be cast aside without the same. We would be far better off with 6000 representatives and 100 senators elected by the state assemblies.
This sounds great but do you think we the People could actually get an amendment to THEIR constitution [the Constitution of the United States] or were you talking about OUR Constitution [the Constitution for the United States of America]? Since they have dissected THEIR constitution to the point of being unrecognizable, I'm betting they would stall the effort until it was completely forgotten. THEIR constitution is merely advisory in nature, where they only access it when it suits their needs, and, therefore is of little value to us. They do talk about it as though it is the law of the land so its only value to us is, that if they make that pretense, we can continue to try to hold their feet to its tenants.
It should and would have a better chance if we were not so centralized one would think; in WY we are currently lack enough population to even have one rep but that REP should be say in Casper so we all have close to equal consideration of what is going on.

I know that....WY is broke, where has the money gone? Cloud unresponsive; she is one of Meade's minions; husband ran a couple of times for state offices last two elections; Meade is a Democrat under an R flag; he needs to be removed under our Constitution for perjury. Grave troubles in Big Horn county with a a group committing collusion to run the county as they see fit..prosecutor has not prosecuted one case since she was voted in...a big problem here, person that owns all the newspapers in Big Horn County and other parts of the state will not allow any information to get out via the newspapers; Chambers uncooperative..I do not like the Chambers for the most part anyhow. Groups organizing or have organized to start work to try to knock down the little group that is working against the people here.

To accomplish what you seek to achieve here you need a Standing Citizen's Militia on Standby for enforcement...
