  • All of us that were involved in the Sagebrush Rebellion believe the States should own the lands as Article I Section limits Federal ownership. We lost in Courts. I think the only real solution is below.

  • I recollect hearing on a George Gordon tape I listened to in the mid 1980s whereon he cited a case, and it really frustrates me I cannot remember the cite, that the lands on the united States can only be held by the people.  I recollect that one of the parties, if memory does not fail me, was someone named Thompson, but cannot recall who the other party was.  A corporation, that which the UNITED STATES is, then it would appear, cannot hold the lands,  Whereas I am unaware of a method whereby individual man and woman might currently acquire title, perhaps the people could claim and hold through the Trusts, the state Constitutions.  Is there anyone out there who can answer this question?  Perhaps there is a researcher out there more qualified than I who can find that case.  I have tried, but have been unsuccessful.

  • Regarding Mangus Colorado comment, depending on the date of that decision, it is likely that decision was made by an instrumentality corporation court of the UNITED STATES.

  • you have to go to the states admissiions acts to see how they gavethe land to thefederal government.

    • I guess I'll need to go back into Black's again and refresh my memory as to the distinction between the Federal government and the National government.  In my mind, I distinguish them as the government of the People and the government corporation established by the Act of 1871.  Whereas the organic Constitution is a perpetual Trust, I suggest the only Lawful government on these several state lands is the People.

  • Q,

You mean how the Federal government extorted the territories to become a State?

    • extortion sucha cruel word. i would say that actually they wanted to save lands for later day activities like selling to saudi Arabia emerites (hage ranch nevada 1990's) without the owners permission.  havent you heard the republic is dead? Obama just made it official soon as the TPP treaty is passed.
