What is Law?

Natural Law is the foundation of a free society. The premise of Natural Law is that all men and women are born with the same rights and responsibilities. This is supposedly the foundation of our Representative Republic. Instead, however, we have allowed a small group of rich and powerful individuals to write their own laws and force us to obey them under the threat of violence, duress of our lives and coercion of our rights.

They have successfully seized control of the legislative process in our country. They have attempted to amend the Laws of Nature by passing legislation that grants them the right to steal our lives, liberty and fortunes, under the color of law.

In the Declaration of Independence, Thomas Jefferson wrote "We hold these truths to be self-evident that all men are created equal and are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights". Including the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, right?

It was the intention of the Founders to create a society where all people would govern themselves using Natural Law. When the Constitution was ratified, framers of the Constitution violated the principles of the Declaration of Independence by denying some of the people some of the rights specified in that founding document.  Women, all slaves, Negroes and Native Americans were denied equality under the new Constitution.

The right to own and possess property, a God given right, was violated when the Constitution authorized Congress to lay and collect taxes. Either property is a God given right or it is a privilege granted by the government.

With the adoption of the Constitution, Alexander Hamilton's wish had come true. They now had a mechanism to convert the rights of the people in to privileges granted by the Federal government.

Natural Law was established by the architect of the Universe and can not be altered, amended or abolished by legislative action. When governments attempt to replace God's Laws they create a society which promotes inequality, injustice and the loss of liberty.

All legislation must be in harmony with God's Law for it to be just. In order for the people to enjoy their natural rights all laws passed by legislatures must be in agreement with the principles of Natural Laws

Any law that compels us to violate another man's life, liberty or property is a violation of Natural Law. As individuals it is morally wrong to steal our neighbor's property and we cannot hire an agent to do it for us. A government that compels individuals to pay taxes violates Natural Law.  A man who is compelled to surrender 100% of everything he produces, is a slave. If the government takes HALF of what we earn, the government becomes our master and we become their slave. The percentage matters not.

The function of government is to provide for the common defense and promote the general welfare. The vast majority of money the government spends is used to pay for services which are not authorized by the Constitution OR Natural Law. If the government confined itself to this authority, it would not need to extort money from the people in the form of "taxes on incomes".
