After the slaves were emancipated a new form of human bondage was instituted. The plantation owners realized that control of their employees was potentially more profitable than ownership. The plantation owners allowed the former slaves to work on a plot of land as long as they agreed to pay the landlord a portion of what they were able to produce. This system of voluntary servitude replaced the system of involuntary servitude, but in both cases the individual was still subject to the jurisdiction of his master.

Today, we are all 21st century share croppers. The government is the landlord and we are the peasants that work on the government's plantation. We are required to pay a portion of what we produce for the privilege of living in the land of the free. The rent we pay is extracted from us in the form of taxation. Taxation is nothing more than government sponsored extortion. When you or I take the property of others without their consent, we have committed a crime, but when the government does the same thing, we tolerate theft under the color of law.

  • I'm, personally SICK & TIRED of this WHITE GUILT SLAVERLY BS.........................about Slavery...........Many Blacks & Native Americans  owned Slaves...............................& BTY WHO SOLD THEM TO THE PORTGUESE &  DUTCH in the first place ?????????????????

    • @Lee Shepherd:  I have had that same "debate" with white & black liberals. No matter what the "facts" are .. you are wrong!  No one cares about the white slaves that were here and all over Europe and the Middle East!  It ONLY matters that black slavery happened here, to them, and it continues today.  And WE are at fault.  We are at fault because they think we are the racists! We are at fault because the ghettoes are breeding grounds, for everything imaginable. We are at fault that they refuse to clean up their own lives and living conditions.  We are at fault because they refuse to go to school!  The list goes on!

        Quotes of Booker T. Washington (c: 1915)

"There is (a) class of colored people who make a
business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs, and the hardships of the
Negro race before the public. Having learned that they are able to make a
living out of their troubles, they have grown into the settled habit of
advertising their wrongs -- partly because they want sympathy and
partly because it pays. Some of these people do not want the Negro to
lose his grievances, because they do not want to lose their jobs. ... "
      • Booker T was right on target....and we see it today, Jessie & Al, two of the most prolific shake down artists of our era. Rev Al resides in a million dollar house just over the GW Bridge from Manhattan, at least he did in the 70's & 80's...................and our POTUS has done more the separate the races since reconstruction...............we all are in a sad state of affairs.

        • This is Sharpton's hype:  Outspoken and sometimes controversial, Sharpton has become a leading figure in the fight against racial prejudice and injustice.

I believe that the ONLY racial prejudice and injustice is against Whites!

And his "reported" net worth is 5 Million.

I am also fed up with bashing the whites.  Did you see the street gang of blacks bashing the white in the face with Motor cycle helmets.  And, an Undercover Cop witnessed it.

Lee, You are right about one thing.  There was a thesis published back in the 1960's or 70's about slavery, and it pointed out that the tribal chiefs in Africa sold the unruely natives and the sick ones into slavery to get them out of his tribe (By a black person searching for his roots).  Bet that one is so well hidden that you could never find it.

    • Guys,

Right argument, wrong topic. An eager learner new to the concept of individual liberty and responsibility toward others would wonder if he/she stumbled into the wrong classroom.Point is We the People are only slaves to tradition if we choose to be.-K

      • Kevin,

I picked cotton right along side blacks picking cotton.  We were all friends.

Obozo wants to separate the races and cause the kind of hate that is ongoing right now.

        • We can add this to that growing "segregation" of races:  From Eric Holder

Education experts decried a new memo from the Departments of Justice and Education that instructs public schools throughout the country to cease punishing disruptive students if they fall into certain racial categories, such as black or Hispanic.

The letter, released on Wednesday, states that it is a violation of federal law for schools to punish certain races more than others, even if those punishments stem from completely neutral rules. For example, equal numbers of black students and white students should be punished for tardiness, even if black students are more often tardy than white students. (RELATED: DOJ to schools: It’s racist to punish students for behaving badly, texting in class)

  • It is ready as it is!

  • What do you mean, "Who will pick the cotton?"

Both sides of my family picked cotton right along side the Africans when they came here; and then later, my mother and father picked cotton along side them also.

Most people don'[t know this...a bitterness began to grow.  The "Freed Africans" even until the 1930's and 1940's were picking cotton along side of many white people.  The bitterness set in when the Blacks would load down their cotton bags with rocks.  People who pick cotton are paid by the pound.  This happened all of the time.

    -----------

Another story many people don't know about. My dad was one of 13 children (my mother one of 7).  They both had the same stories.

At Christmas time,, we all met at my Grand-parents home up close to the Texas/Oklahoma Border.  All of the children were supposed to be in bed...BUT! You know kids.  We'd sneak down to the landing on the stairs and listen to the grown-ups talk as they sat around a "pot bellied stove" in the main room.

Remember now, this was the 1930's.  All of my people were farmers.  The Africans (not called African- Americans at that time) lived on land together...land they were "given."  They were also GIVEN lumber to build their homes with as well as:

    A Cow and A Bull;

    One Rooster and two hens;

    One Sow and One Hog.

    ----------------

They slaughtered the Bull, the Hog and the Roosters to eat.  Do you understand where I am headed with this?  Right!

Chickens cannot produce eggs (for baby chicks) without the Rooster.

The Cows cannot produce calves without the Bull.

    What did they do?

They raided the farmers land at night stealing their livestock.  The local  Sheriff was 1/2 day's ride and 1/2 days ride back.  Then they couldn't prove anything.  It isn't possible to "brand chickens, etc."  They hadn't thought about branding the bulls until after all of the theft.  They couldn't leave their farms for 24 hours.  They would have lost everything.  What did they do?

Each farmer took his turn riding the lands of all of his neighbors. When they caught someone stealing. They shot them right on the spot.
