I am currently sponsoring 13 children in Central and South America and would like to invite you to visit their website and join me in helping share a little of what we have with the less fortunate.

  • With we$hare Crowd Funding, I see no reason why we can't sponsor hundreds of these children Keith!

  • Im helping mothers with children that are homeless  here in my own county,  so i think our own community is a good place to start, and my 83 year old friend is out there on the streets, im trying to find him a place to live

    • Hi Troy,

We can help you with that.  Contact Keith or myself and we'll help you make a big difference and change those situations real soon.

  • My plans are to donate an amount equal to at least 90% of all donations received.

  • I'm not an accountant, attorney or tax adviser, however, it seems to me that he could start a foundation or other entity and seek competent counsel.  Funds or donations that are given away would likely be deductible.

Dave Myrland has some great information about what the IRC says about "income". His website is www.wevgov.com or takefromcaesar.us.

    Hope that helps,

    Jim

  • According to the IRS code an individual can receive donations of up to $14,000 without any tax liability. Donations are not income. The funds being donated, however would not be tax deductible to the donor. People making donations via Crowd Funding would only be making $200 donations.

  • You're right Keith, $14,000.  With Crowd Funding the maximum donation anyone makes is below the threshold.

Another thing to keep in mind is even the initial $200 donation to get started with your own project, is quickly replaced so essentially you have no out of pocket.

Some people are paying off student loans, mortgages, starting businesses, or in home nursing care.  I just noticed someone who started a CF project because she needs a kidney.  Makes total sense.

This is what happens when people help people!
