Critical Thinkers United

Here is a note from Keith Broaders in reference to an idea that has been hatched over the years with much consideration as to the form and format for such an organization as he has proposed.

A wealthy Floridian Pastor with whom we are associated, is preparing to purchase a large parcel of land to establish a Biblical Commonwealth where the community would be governed by God's Laws and not the rules, regulations, codes, ordinances written by city, county, state or federal legislative bodies.

In this Kingdom the people would use their time and talent instead of money to aquire the things they need and want. All goods and services would be purchased in units of time rather than money. An hour of time would be equivalent to ten dollars.

The land would be owned collectively by the Church, while the housing units and other improvements to the land would be the property of the tenents-at-will. The people would decide how much land they wish to possess and would pay a land rent to the Church proportional to the size of the parcel they choose to possess.

Every man, woman and child would have the respobsibility to perform an equivalent of 20 hours of comminuty service per week. The Community would have its own Dairy Farm, Cattle Ranch, Poultry Farm, Community Garden and Orchard, where individuals would be paid food credits to feed their families in exchange for their labor instead of cash.

Houses and all other buildings would be made from hemp which is a non combistable material, so a volunteer fire department would be adequate to serve the needs of the community.

Individuals and families would be divided into units of ten and all disputes would be settled by an elected Elder.

The Community would have a Well Regulated Militia. Parents would be responsible to teach reading, writing and arithmetic to their children and the children would spend three hours/day studying on their own.

The society would be governed by the principles of Natural Law as written in the Ten Commandment, and the people there would live by simple principles such as; Do not lie, cheat or steal, always keep your promises and love thy neighbor.
