Adolf Hitler believed that the German people were exceptional. He considered Germans racially superior to any other race or creed of people. Anyone without blonde hair and blue eyes was genetically impure and therefore, to be eliminated from the human gene pool. Of course he had dark hair and his Mother was Jewish, but let's not open that can of worms. He also believed that the love of country was more important than the love of God. Our Founding Fathers believed that our rights were innate and unalienable; granted to us by our Creator. Hitler believed that rights were nothing more than privileges granted by the state.
He used his belief in the superiority of the Aryan race to justify his treatment of the Jews and other inferior races. In Nazi Germany liberty, equality and justice were sacrificed for the greater good of the greater number. Total genocide was perfectly acceptable in his mind. Hitler believed that the Germans were ordained by God to rule the world. It was Germany's manifest destiny. He did not believe that it was,
“self evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness…” – Declaration of Independence
Hitler did not think that governments were “instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.” He believed that rights were a gift from the state and that individuals living in Germany were responsible to the state and obedience to their leaders. Hitler believed that men were not entitled to liberty and that their only responsibility was to do as they were commanded by the state. The people living in Nazi Germany were controlled through intimidation and fear. They were told that the ends justified the means.
The schools promoted pride in Germany and obedience to the state. People were afraid to speak out. Like Karl Marx, Hitler believed that men were not capable of governing themselves and that they needed enlightened leaders who would make all the right decisions for them. People in general were not capable of handling freedom. Children were taught it was a sin to question authority and that obedience to the state was sacred. They made the State their Lord and Master. People worshipped at the Altar of The Holy Benevolent Government.
In a speech given by Hitler's Minister of Propaganda, Joseph Goebbels stated that Germany had a right to attack other nations in order to defend Germany against the threats from their enemies. Unlike our founding fathers who believed that force should only be used in self defense, Hitler and Nazi Germany believed that force should be used before there is a threat to their national security. So no uprisings or public protests were tolerated. No free speech.
Hitler believed in the survival of the fittest and the law of the jungle. He believed that stronger nations were justified in conquering weaker ones. Hitler believed that Might makes right.In Hitler's Germany there was no liberty, equality or justice. The people had no rights, only the responsibility to obey their governmental leaders. People were not motivated by the love of God. They were motivated by the love of country and lived in fear of their government.Hitler taught that security was far more important than liberty and that in order to live in a secure society individual liberties must be sacrificed. In the Kingdom of God, individuals are personally accountable to God while in Nazi Germany the individual was subordinate to Heir Leader. Any dissent was strictly Verboten.
