Dear Sheriff _____________,
As I'm sure you know, the President of our nation made the announcement Wednesday, that he intends to increase the gun laws in the United States. In California, we have gun laws that are already some of the most stringent in the country. These further attempts at dismantling the Constitution are detrimental to the ideals on which our Nation was founded, but even now, our legislators are designing even more laws which infringe on our basic freedoms.
Several Sheriffs in the state of Oregon, and others have banded together to defend the rights of the citizens they swore to protect, and I urge you to do the same. I have included their letters to the Vice President for you to read and contemplate.
As a voting citizen of Sacramento, I urge you to follow through on your oath to uphold the Constitution of our nation, and join your fellow Sheriffs in defending the rights of the citizens of Sacramento.
