Was the treatment of the indigenous people in North American something to be proud of? Call it ethnic cleansing, call it genocide or whatever you wish. The fact is what our government did to the indigenous people was disgraceful. The history of our nation is stained with the blood of millions of Native Americans who paid the price for trusting our government.
I don't know about you, but I am ashamed of the atrocities committed by our government in the name of "Manifest Destiny". The mentality of might makes right has existed since the beginning of time and is still the focus of our foreign policy.
