Today, there are many who believe that the government's role is to redistribute wealth.
founding principles of our nation are based on natural laws which can not be altered, amended or abolished. Water always freezes at 32 degrees and boils at 212 degrees. The legislature can not repeal or suspend the law of gravity. or any of the other natural laws.
The Constitution was created to limit the power of the national government and protect the God given rights of the people.
The Constitution is either a contract between the states and the national govenment or it is not. There are those that believe the document needs to be strictly interpreted and enforced while others believe that the meaning of the Constitution needs to change with the times.
If the Constitution can be changed without going through the amendment peocess through the amendment process we will be governed by the whims of men rather than the rule of law.
