The Death of Michael Brown

The amount of overly aggressive actions taken by members of the law enforcement community is becoming a significant problem. In the days of "Andy of Mayberry" the police were considered to be peace officers, but today they have become enforcers of the law. While their function should be to protect the lives, liberty and property of the people they have become ruthless enforcers of the law.

Many of the laws they enforce violate the God given rights of the people. While I am not condoning the behavior of Michael Brown, I don't think that the police officer should have the right to be the judge, jury and executioner. It seems that every death at the hands of the police is ruled to be justifiable homicide. Why not shoot alleged criminals with a tranquilizer dart that would render them unconscious?

  • LOL- that sure covers the whole range of opinions!

  • As near as I can tell, Brown committed atrocious assault on the officer, then charged him when the officer retaliated. I'll wait for more of the facts to be in before making up my mind, though. Hope you will too.

I am disturbed at the rioters, looters and how LE treated peaceful protesters and reporters, as well as the race baiters like Obama, Holder, Sharpton and MSM.

What's with the photo of Ron Johnson and the gang signs anyway?

    • Often times when people are treated aggressively they respond with aggressive behavior. Was Michael Brown committing a crime when he was confronted by the police? If the police officer initiated the confrontation and Michael Brown responded aggressively it seems that the use deadly force would have been unnecessary if the police officer had handled the situation skillfully rather than resorting to intimidation and brute force. It appears to me that Michael Brown responded aggressively when he was treated disrespectfully by the police officer. If the police officer was skillfully executing his job the violence that followed could have been avoided.

      • Exactly, what are the facts?  That's how we work!  Opinions aren't allowed in Court.

  • Police work is dangerous, especially if your on the right vs them on the wrong.

They have been over equipped by the DHS, and rest assured over trained by the DHS, and over equipped by the DHS and FEMA and the Pentagon with "donated" out of date military grade weapons and armored vehicles. In short we have created a new form of Red Coats who wear Brown Shirts and jack boots.

Any questions? Just watch out for the media who doesn't really report on why we have arrived where we are today. All because of a few rogue agents who slipped past our borders security system and trained to fly commercial civilian jet aircraft right here in the USA. So much for a closed boarder heh??? Now that the media has really reported how bad our boarder non security is, don't think for a New York second our Jihadist's "friends" won't use it for what it is, an open invitation to open the flood gates of hell. I don't know what we would deb better off paying for $3.7 billion for what, more unscreened security risks? Or $5.7 billion for a REAL SECURE BOARDER, and I know which construction company can do it too. The US Army Corp of Engineers, they can do it better, and they can do it on time! And their motivated too! What more do you want?

    All paid for US.

  • At the time the incident occurred was Michael Brown presenting a threat to anyone's life, liberty or property? If he was not, did the officer have the right to confront him? Did the officer know that a crime had just been committed an a nearby convenience store and did he suspect that Michael Brown was the individual that committed the crime?

    • The only thing the community doesn't like is they didn't get to shoot him themselves, along with a three year old child. Those white cops spoil all our fun.

    • Very good points Keith. The answers are not coming quickly though are they? The police will never answer your excellent questions. They are right, always, they always claim every shooting they do is justifiable, and they cover up every single one. I guess that's their answer.

  • Even if Mike did assault the officer was necessary to shoot an unarmed man 10 times. Is it possible that Mike was physically and verbally abused by the officer and was trying to defend himself?

How do you know that the cop was right. Just because he said that Mike attacked him doesn't necessarily mean that he did. The officer is not supposed to be the judge, the jury and the executioner. I thought there was supposed to be presumption of innocence.

    • The 'Presumption Of Innocence' works both ways.

Like Rodney King, why didn't the Gentle Black 'Boy' just surrender or walk away?  Was he just looking for a fight by taunting the cop?
